18. Agreement & Release
    The Town of Chevy Chase conducts a “Consulting Water Management Program” pursuant to which the Town authorizes the Town’s consultants to advise residents regarding problems with water management, runoff, and drainage issues. This service is provided at no cost to residents. However, in making the Town’s consultants available to residents and paying for the consultant’s services, neither the Town nor the consultants guarantee or accept responsibility for any representations, advice or other information or opinions provided by the consultants. Residents are encouraged to consult with privately retained engineers if they have any questions or doubts regarding information or advice provided by the Town’s consultants. Recommendations made by the consultants will not be mandatory, in whole or in part, on the part of the resident. The consultants will not develop any engineering plans along with the recommendations. This service is not available for new construction, including additions.
    
    In consideration for making the Consulting Water Management Program available to the undersigned, the undersigned agrees that he/she has read this document in its entirety, understands and agrees that neither the Town nor the consultant will be responsible for the advice of the contractor, and agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Town and all of its officers, employees, contractors, consultants, and agents from all suits, actions, damages, and costs which may result from the information or advice provided to the resident or the resident’s agents by the consultant.
