Townneighbors Listserv

Townneighbors is a listserv for residents of the Town of Chevy Chase. We are a forum for sharing information and discussing issues.  Need a recommendation for someone to fix or install something in your home?  Do you have items or tickets to sell or give away?  Looking for a new doctor or want an opinion about one you’ve heard about?  Need a babysitter or nanny?  Need travel or restaurant suggestions?  Lost or found a pet?  Do you have information about local events or want to discuss local Town issues, such as traffic, crime, and development?   We cover these topics and more.

Townneighbors is not affiliated with the Town of Chevy Chase or any civic, governmental, religious, or political organization.  It is a moderated listserv, which means all messages are reviewed by the owner or moderators before being posted. No spam or inappropriate material will be posted. No attachments are allowed.

HOW TO JOIN

BY EMAIL — This is the easiest way to sign up.  

Send an email (leave the subject line blank, but include your full name and address in the body of the message) to

townneighbors-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

You will receive every message separately, as soon as it is posted.

If you don’t want individual messages cluttering your inbox, you should sign up through the web. This allows you to choose message delivery options—such as the Daily Digest (usually one email per day containing all the day’s messages) or Web-Only delivery (no email messages, so you must go to the web site to read messages).
 
FOR WEB SIGN UP — Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/townneighbors/

Click on "JOIN." You will be asked to sign up for a Yahoo ID. It’s free and won’t affect your regular email address or where you choose to receive Townneighbors emails. A Yahoo ID is also the only way to access archived messages, which are stored on the web site. You can use the “search” function to locate archived messages of interest.

After you are a member, you can change how you receive messages by clicking on the “Edit Membership” link at the top of page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/townneighbors/

You can unsubscribe from the listserv at any time by sending a message to the address shown at the bottom of each email message.
