Severe Thunderstorms Forecast for this Afternoon and Evening

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for our area until 9 p.m. this evening, with the possibility of large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain.

The Town's contractors are prepared to assess and respond to storm damage, and an off-duty police officer will be in Town from 2 to 10 p.m. today to assist with storm damage assessment and to report power outages to PEPCO.

Resident also should report power outages directly to PEPCO at 1-877-PEPCO-62 (1-877-737-2662). Do not assume that PEPCO knows you are without power.

Residents should report downed utility lines to 911 and to PEPCO.  Do not approach downed lines, which could be energized.
