Leaf Collection to Begin in October Leaf vacuuming will begin in mid to late October (an exact date will be announced soon). If you or your landscape company plan to use gas-powered leaf blowers this fall (allowed from October 15 to December 31), please follow the Town’s quiet hours schedule and refrain from using them before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. on weekdays and before 12 p.m. or after 6 p.m. on weekends. Better yet, please encourage/ask your landscapers to continue using the electric-powered leaf blowers they have been using over the last two years that the Town has had a partial ban on GPLBs in place.
Montgomery County just enacted legislation to ban the sale of GPLBs (effective July 1, 2024) and to ban the use of GPLBs (effective July 1, 2025). Residents, landscape workers, and the environment benefit from the reduced noise and pollution of electric-powered leaf blowers.

Once again, our Town has been asked to help 100 MCPS families over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Food insecurity is very real for many nearby neighbors in our county. Here is how you can help.
Drop off/mail a check payable to YMCA/YFS or Giant or Aldi gift cards to Georgia Guhin (4006 Rosemary Street, Chevy Chase, MD 20815) between October 1 and 31. If you would like us to pick up your donation, contact one of us below. Your donation of any amount will help purchase a $100 food card for each of the 100 families for the Thanksgiving Holiday. All additional funds raised will go toward extra gift cards. 100% of your donation will support MCPS families in need. The YMCA is not able to accept online donations for this special project. You will receive an acknowledgement of your donation from the YMCA. Have questions? Send an email to the Town Office at townoffice@townofchevychase.org; to Georgia Guhin at gbguhin@gmail.com; to Bridget Hartman at bridget@hartmanjr.net; or Katie Vita at katie.vita@gmail.com.
