The September 2024 issue of the Forecast newsletter is now available online.


Labor Day Holiday, September 2


The Town office will be closed on September 2 for the Labor Day holiday. Household trash will not be collected on Monday, September 2 but will be collected on Thursday, September 5 for homes on the Monday/Thursday collection route. Yard trash will be collected on Tuesday, September 3. Recycling and household organic waste will be collected on Wednesday, September 4. Have a safe and happy holiday!


Community Meetings on Recommendations to Raise Development Cap in Downtown Bethesda


The Montgomery County Planning Department has announced two public meetings on its preliminary recommendations to raise the development cap in downtown Bethesda as part of a minor master plan amendment to the 2017 Bethesda Downtown Plan, which addresses the vision of Bethesda for the next 20 years. 

Planning Department staff will discuss the preliminary recommendations and answer questions at these locations:

-- Wednesday, September 11, at 7 p.m. in the large meeting room at the Connie Morella Library (7400 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD)

-- Tuesday, September 17, at 7 p.m. (Virtual). RSVPs are required to receive a meeting link.

-- Saturday, September 21, at 11 a.m. at Chevy Chase Town Hall (4301 Willow Lane, Chevy Chase, MD)


Coquelin Run Stream Stabilization Project


The Town expects to complete the Coquelin Run stream stabilization project by September 6, weather permitting. The purpose of the project is to reinforce the stream bank and realign the stream to prevent it from eroding the public right-of-way adjacent to Lynn Drive. Free COVID Test Kits


The Town has free COVID test kits in the Town office. The kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Residents are encouraged to connect with fellow residents through the private Town Neighbors listserv.
