WJLA News Segment on the County's Multifamily Housing Proposal

Residents Reminded to Register for County Listening Session on September 25

On September 11, WJLA aired a news segment about the County's multifamily housing proposal, which would amend single-family zoning in the County to allow duplexes, triplexes, townhomes, or in some cases small apartment buildings. The segment mentions the recent development of multimillion-dollar multifamily housing on the Town's borders.

Residents are reminded and encouraged to register for the County listening sessions on its multifamily housing proposals. The September 25 session at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center is full, so please register for another in-person or virtual session.  The Town has reached out to Council President Andrew Friedson to request another in-person listening session for our area.

If you cannot attend, you can give the Council your feedback online.

Montgomery County Launches 2024 Online Community Survey of Residents, With Response Deadline of Sept. 30

Montgomery County has launched the County's 2024 online resident survey. The survey, which is open to any resident 18-and-over, aims to gather feedback on local government services and the perception of overall quality of life in the County. The survey will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The survey questions ask about the following issues:

-- Quality of life of neighborhood/community
-- Favorability of County services
-- Usage of amenities and facilities
-- Participation in County programs
-- Customer and constituent service of County employees
-- Effectiveness of County communications
-- Household practices (such as recycling)

The survey plays a crucial role in improving customer service, promoting transparency and gathering feedback that informs budgetary and policy decisions. These insights help deliver effective and efficient government services. To view the results of the most recent Community Survey, conducted in 2021, visit this page.
