Clear Your Sidewalks to Keep Our Town Safe We greatly appreciate the efforts of residents who have already cleared and treated the sidewalks in front of their homes as required by the Town. Unfortunately, the Town has received a significant number of complaints about icy and unsafe sidewalks that remain uncleared.
We urge all residents to take action by clearing and treating their icy sidewalks as soon as possible. By doing so, you are helping to prevent accidents and ensuring our community remains safe and accessible for all. Failure to treat the sidewalks is a violation of the Town Code. Please remember that you are responsible for clearing the sidewalks adjacent to your home, or arranging for them to be cleared if you are away or otherwise unable, when accumulations are below the Town’s threshold for mobilizing its town-wide sidewalk clearance program (generally 6” or more of snow accumulation). The Town sends out information on Town-wide sidewalk shoveling operations via the Town Crier for each storm. Please contact the Town Office if you have any questions. Thank you for doing your part in making our Town safer this winter.
