Quynh Tran to be Appointed to Town Council
As reported in a prior Town Crier, Vice Mayor Irene Lane has announced that she will be resigning from the Council due to an upcoming move to Austin, Texas. According to the Town Charter, the remaining members of the Council select a resident to serve out the rest of the term of the councilmember who has resigned. These Councilmembers agreed to appoint Quynh Tran to complete Irene’s term, which will end in May of next year. The Council will formally vote on Quynh’s appointment at the conclusion of its November 19 meeting.
Quynh, who lives on Ridgewood Avenue, has been a Town resident for 15 years. She has volunteered on the Town's Community Relations Committee for 8 years and has served as co-chair since 2021.
Mayor Barney Rush said "We're very pleased that Quynh, a long-time Town resident and volunteer, is willing to serve the remainder of Irene’s term. Many residents already know Quynh due to her civic engagement, and we appreciate her hard work and dedication to our Town. We look forward to working with her."
The Town will host a reception for Irene with desserts and drinks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, following our Town Council meeting that will start at 6 p.m. that evening. We also will use that occasion to welcome Quynh. Please join us, and RSVP here.
