Utility/Paving Work Update

Next week, WSSC will continue to make new house connections in the 4400 block of Stanford Street.  WSSC's sewer repair contractor will be mobilizing to begin sanitary sewer repairs on East Avenue between Bradley Lane and Ridge Street, and will be making a manhole adjustment on Maple Avenue between Bradley Lane and Rosemary Street.

The Town's paving contractor is scheduled to begin final pavement restoration on the following streets beginning the week of May 21:  Leland Street (4200 block), Maple Avenue (6900-7300 blocks), Thornapple Street (between Meadow Lane and Maple Avenue), Maple Terrace, Pine Place, and Ridgewood Terrace.  The paving of these streets should take approximately three weeks total.  Impacted residents will be notified in advance of the scheduled work in their block.

Town Forum on the Purple Line
Monday, May 14th, 7 pm in the Town Hall

The trees have been cut and heavy construction will soon begin.  Town residents have many questions on many issues, including: the elevation and appearance of the project, the appearance of the trains themselves, the construction schedule, noise, visual privacy, storm water management and access under or across the tracks.  The Purple Line Mitigation committee will host this Town Forum to discuss these important topics.  We don’t claim to have all the answers, but will share what we’ve learned, present pictures and civil drawings, discuss further help and mitigation and seek to answer your questions.  While we hope those who live closest to the project will be particularly interested in attending, the event should be of interest to everyone in Town.

Town Teens List Update
 
The Town is completely refreshing its Town Teens list! The Town Teens list is a great resource connecting Town teens seeking jobs and Town residents seeking individuals to provide a variety of services.  Any Town teen that would like to be included on the new list should fill out a sign-up form and return it to the Town Office, or email the completed form to townoffice@townofchevychase.org.
