Kick-Off Centennial Celebration – Today, Sunday, June 17
Events for Everyone
Everyone is invited to join in the Town's kick-off Centennial Celebration today, Sunday, June 17, from 1 pm to 6 pm.
From 1 pm to 4 pm, visit 10 distinctive gardens throughout Town. Front yards will be marked by a hanging basket, white bow and sign. Maps will be available at the Town Hall and at each garden. Wander through woodland sanctuaries and English cottage gardens. Stroll through formal gardens and outdoor rooms. Learn about the power of native plants and how to create a bountiful vegetable garden. Each gardener has a wonderful story to tell.
From 4 pm to 6 pm, drop by the Town Hall for a festive reception of wine, Prosecco, specially-baked anniversary cookies and tasty hors-d'oeuvres and enjoy two exhibits on our Town’s history. From 3 pm to 4 pm, children (and grown-ups!) can begin to create our My Town Mural. The exhibits and mural will also be on display in the Town Hall during the July 4 parade and picnic.
Important Notes for June 17: The trolley will not be available for the garden tour. With early voting at the Lawton Center from 10 am to 8 pm, the parking lot may be unusually crowded.
