REMINDER: Public Hearings and Council Action on Contribution Requests

On Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m., the Town Council will hold public hearings on four contribution requests, as outlined below. In accordance with Town procedures, these requests were heard and discussed by the Council at its October meeting, at which time the Council determined that each request meets the Town’s contribution eligibility requirements and should be scheduled for a public hearing and Council action.

The requests are as follows:


  • The Chevy Chase Elementary School PTA requests a contribution of $9,000 to purchase six computers for the 6th Grade Arts Program.  View Request

  • The Friends of the Capital Crescent Trail requests a contribution of $25,388 for studies related to the impacts of the proposed Purple Line project. View Request

  • The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad requests a contribution of $132,000 towards the purchase of an ambulance and other emergency medical and fire/rescue equipment.  View Request

  • The Writer’s Center requests a contribution of $100,000 towards improvements to the facility on Walsh Street to make the Center handicapped-accessible.  View Request

If you cannot attend the November 5 public hearings, which begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall, you may submit comments on any of the contribution requests to the Town Office at 4301 Willow Lane or townoffice@townofchevychase.org prior to the meeting.
