Calling All Pedestrians -- Montgomery County's Pedestrian Master Plan
To make walking and rolling in the County safer and more comfortable, Montgomery County’s Planning Department recently began work on a Pedestrian Master Plan. They have now rolled out an online interactive map showing pedestrian pathway and intersection “comfort." You can move around the County looking at specific sidewalks and intersections to see how they have been rated. Clicking on the purple pedestrian icons brings up a video showing pedestrians in that area. You can share your rating of that sidewalk or intersection using the survey form below the video. At a kick-off meeting for this project, planning staff said that their initial ratings are based on a very cursory observation, and they need feedback from people who regularly walk the areas.
