In this difficult and uncertain time, the Town wants to ensure that residents have access to reliable and useful information about COVID-19, commonly referred to as the coronavirus. Following are several links to trusted resources for up to date information.
Montgomery County Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information [https://montgomerycountymd.gov/HHS/RightNav/Coronavirus.html]
Maryland Department of Health Coronavirus Disease Outbreak [https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/]
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/summary.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fsummary.html]
Additionally, we want to remind residents of some universal guidance and basic precautions to protect yourself and others:
Practice "social distancing" by staying at least 6 feet away from other people.
Wash your hands regularly. The CDC recommends washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after using the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose or sneezing.
Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze.
Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
Clean objects and surfaces you touch often.
If you need to shop for groceries, go shopping at a time that's less busy; take hand sanitizer (germicide) with you and use it to wipe your hands and the cart before and after you shop; and use a credit or debt card to avoid handling money.
When you’re sick, stay home from work or school and drink lots of fluids.
If you think you need medical care, you should call ahead to your medical provider and let them know you are coming. Medical providers are screening for COVID-19 using federally-mandated criteria [https://phpa.health.maryland.gov/IDEHASharedDocuments/COVID-19_Clinician-Letter_3.6.20_FINAL.pdf] . You can speak to a nurse by calling 240-777-1755.
