Participation in this service is voluntary. If you wish to participate, please contact the Town Office by Friday, December 20 at 301-654-7144 or email@example.com [mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org] . Participants will receive one 5-gallon bin (with liner) the last week in December, with regular weekly collection beginning Tuesday, January 7 and continuing every Tuesday thereafter (except holidays). On collection day, the contractor will empty the bin, wipe it down, replace the liner and return the bin to the curb. A list of compostable materials will be included in the January Forecast and on the Town website ( www.townofchevychase.org [www.townofchevychase.org] ).
After the December 20 deadline, residents wishing to opt-in to this service may do so by contacting the Town Office by the last Tuesday of any month. Bins will be delivered to new participants on the first Tuesday of the following month, with regular pickup beginning the following week.
For those residents who currently contract with Compost Crew for this service, the month of December will be your last billing cycle. Effective January 1, the Town will assume responsibility for payment of your account.
