Council Amends Proposed FY22 Budget to Fund Real Estate Broker to Advise on 4-H Sale
On April 30, the Town Council approved an amendment to the proposed FY22 budget to provide funding for a real estate broker to advise on the Town’s potential acquisition of a portion of the 4-H Center property. The Council approved a total of $230,000 for fees related to this assistance. Up to $80,000 would be for advisory work and a further $150,000 would be paid only if the Town is successful in achieving certain objectives consistent with our approved policy. The Council agrees that the sale of the 4-H property presents a unique opportunity, and it wishes to explore all opportunities related to the sale. Any acquisition will conform to the policy that establishes opportunities to be sought and issues to be addressed to guide the Town’s engagement with prospective bidders and the seller.
The proposed FY22 budget, which is available for review here, has been amended to include the additional funding and now reflects a budget deficit of $215,500 for the next fiscal year. Residents are welcome to comment on the FY22 budget during the public hearing at the Town’s Annual Meeting on May 4. More details are available here.
