4-H Center Development Survey

Responses Due by Thursday, May 20

While no decisions about the future development of the 4-H property have been made, the Town Council asks residents to fill out a 6-minute online survey, which will help to inform the Town Council and Staff as we engage bidders.  We ask that surveys be completed by Thursday, May 20.  In addition to this survey, we will continue to accept your comments in any other way you may wish to reach out to us, including by email to townoffice@townofchevychase.org

We understand that the first round of bids has been completed, and 4-H is now asking a shortlist of bidders to submit revised proposals.  4-H has maintained its goal of selecting a winning bidder by the end of June.  The Town does not control what can be developed on the site, but we have rights and influence arising from our ordinances and from our agreements with 4-H.  To that end, we have updated our Town website to include information about the 81-foot setback covenant, our building ordinance, our tree ordinance, and our water drainage ordinance.

We hope to have discussions with at least some of the bidders before final bids are due.  But we will probably not know what may be feasible until after we have met with the winning bidder.

If you have any questions, Councilmember Ellen Cornelius Ericson will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19 via Zoom.

Please click here to fill out the survey.

Thank you!
