Mayor Scott Fosler and Councilmembers Mary Flynn and Barney Rush will testify at the Montgomery County Council's September 13 public hearing on the County's 2016-2020 Subdivision Staging Policy (SSP). The purpose of the policy is to evaluate individual proposals for development and determine if the County's transportation network and schools have sufficient capacity to accommodate the additional demand.
The Town's goal is to promote and ensure responsible and sustainable development for the long term while protecting residential neighborhoods. To that end, the Town's official testimony, which will be presented by Mayor Fosler, supports many of the recommendations in the SSP but takes exceptions or suggests modifications to others. The Town's testimony is available for review on the Town website.
The County Council's public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville, MD.
