William H. Hudnut III: It is with sadness that we report that former Town Mayor Bill Hudnut passed away on Sunday of complications from heart disease at age 84, after a lengthy illness. A local memorial service is planned on Wednesday, January 4 at 10:30AM at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church at 4201 Albemarle Street N.W. in Washington, D.C. A reception will follow the service.
Utility Work Update -- WSSC will not be working in Town until January 3. Following completion of work this afternoon, Washington Gas will not be working in Town until Tuesday, December 27. Next week, the contractor will work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday installing the new gas mains on Ridge Street and East Avenue. They have scheduled individual house reconnections on Rosemary Street for the same days. The contractor will not work between December 29 and January 3.
