Dear Neighbors –
As Cecily mentioned in her earlier message, I hope that you’ll be able to join us at the home of Evelyn and Dan Chung for a Meet the Candidates event this Sunday April 30th, from 3:30pm – 5:00pm, at 4411 Leland Street.
I’m grateful to Cecily for including me in this event. Doing so symbolizes the spirit of collaboration that our town needs as we work together to address the multiple challenges facing our community.
Like Cecily and the other members of the Town Council – Scott Fosler, Barney Rush, and Mary Flynn – I am committed to having an open door and look forward to getting to know each of you in the days ahead. Please always feel free to reach out to me by email at joel@joelrubin.net to connect if there are issues that you’d like to discuss.
I also look forward to engaging you proactively about the future of our town. There are many critical questions to address. For example, what should our budget priorities be? What regulations should we examine? What should we do now about the Purple Line and the Bethesda Sector Plan? How do both our young families and our senior citizens want the town to evolve? There’s a lot to discuss.
So please come out and vote on Tuesday May 2nd. Even though this election is uncontested, a strong showing of voters will demonstrate that our town is actively engaged on these and many other issues. Your vote will strengthen both Cecily and me, as well as the full Council, as we seek to advance the goals of the Town on your behalf. I hope to see you on Tuesday!
Joel Rubin
