Utility Work Update -- WSSC has scheduled two water shutdowns for Monday, July 24. The first shutdown will impact residents on Woodside Place and on Meadow Lane south of Woodside Place during the day.  The second shutdown will be done in the evening (due to a summer camp at the Elementary School during the day) and will impact residents on Rosemary Street east of Rosemary Circle.  Following these shutdowns, WSSC will be able to begin installing the new water main on Meadow Lane south of Woodside Place.  WSSC will also continue testing the new water main on Beechwood Drive next week.  The contractor expects the installation of house service connections on Beechwood Drive to begin the week of July 31.  The installation of temporary water mains in advance of the water main replacement on Maple Avenue between Thornapple Street and Leland Street will likely begin in the next few weeks.

Next week, Washington Gas intends to continue installing a new gas main on 44th Street and will continue to install new house service connections on streets where new gas mains have been installed.  The contractor intends to work tomorrow (Saturday) to take abandoned gas mains out of service on Hillcrest Place near Rosemary Circle and on Thornapple Street near Oakridge Avenue.  This disconnection work will continue next week at several locations in the Town.

Thank you for your continued patience during the ongoing utility work. Please contact the Town Office at townoffice@townofchevychase.org or 301-654-7144 if you have any questions.
