Utility Work Update
-- Next week, if temperatures allow, WSSC will begin installing new water mains on 44th Street between Elm Street and Willow Lane.  If temperatures are below freezing, the contractor will not be able to do much work.

Thank you for your continued patience during the ongoing utility work. The Town will provide frequent updates on the utility work via the Town Crier.  Please contact the Town Office at
townoffice@townofchevychase.org or 301-654-7144 if you have any questions.

Seriously Fun Singers, Town Hall, Sunday, February 11, 4 to 6 pm --  SFS began three years ago when two friends in Town were looking to sing popular and “fun” music in a small group setting.  They organized SFS, recruiting many like-minded, musically-talented Town residents. SFS performs programs of eclectic popular music. The concert will offer a blend of 60’s pop, traditional folk, and some Broadway standards, with a special focus on LOVE (Valentine’s Day is on the 14th!).  Refreshments will be served. Space is limited, so RSVP to the Town office by calling 301-654-7144 or emailing townoffice@townofchevychase.org

Volunteers Needed for Town’s Centennial Committee --
2018 is the Town’s centennial, and we are seeking resident volunteers to join a Town Centennial Committee to help plan and organize an April event and other activities. Town resident Bridget Hartman has agreed to chair this committee. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact the Town office at 301-654-7144 or townoffice@townofchevychase.org. We look forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary with all of you!

Neighborhood Watch Block Captains Needed --
The Town is seeking resident volunteers to serve as block captains for our Neighborhood Watch Program. The number of block captains has declined over the past few years, and the Town hopes to increase participation in the program. If we determine that there is insufficient interest among residents, the Town may choose to discontinue the program and rely solely on the Town’s communication tools, such as Town Crier and Alert TOCC, to inform residents of public safety issues and incidents. If you are interested in serving as a block captain, please contact Dave Eason, Chair of the Town’s Public Services Committee, at deason@martoneconstruction.com for more information.

Winter Outerwear Clothing Drive, November 1 - February 28 --
The Town’s Community Relations Committee, working with the Lawton Community Center, is collecting clean, gently-used or never used warm coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, sweaters, pants and socks to donate to local charities serving those in need.  Clothing boxes for your donations are in the Town Hall (Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Lawton Community Center (Monday thru Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9:30 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).
