Utility Work Update

Next week, WSSC’s sewer contractor will begin a sewer main replacement project on Leland Street between Curtis Road and East Avenue.  

The Town’s street paving contractor is scheduled to begin paving work in the 3900, 4000 and 4300 blocks of Rosemary Street on Monday.  Additionally, the contractor is scheduled to complete the paving work in the 7000 block of Hillcrest Place.  Residents are reminded to observe the posted “No Parking” signs.

Notice of Road Closure on Wisconsin Avenue

Beginning at 6:00 am Sunday, July 15th, 2018 (weather permitting), WO Grubb Crane Rental Inc. will place a crane in the roadway to hoist communication equipment onto the building located at 8200 Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355).  The work will close all southbound lanes of MD 355 between Battery Lane and Highland Avenue.  The work should be complete and all traffic lanes reopened no later than 3:00 pm if not earlier.
 
Vehicular traffic will be detoured around the work zone via Woodmont Avenue and Cordell Avenue. Sidewalks within the work zone closest to the 8200 Wisconsin Avenue building will remain accessible during all phases of the crane operation except when lifting or lowering of materials is active.  Pedestrians may be directed to the safest crosswalks within the work zone via flagmen and signage.  Safest crossings may include those on the opposite side of the street. Purple Line Work

On approximately July 16, 2018, crews will begin working night shifts in the Bethesda Work Zone on Elm Street. The night shift is from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. No weekend work planned.
