Utility Work Update

Next week, WSSC’s sewer contractor will continue a sewer main replacement project on Leland Street between Curtis Road and East Avenue.

WSSC will continue working in the 4300 block of Thornapple Street to bore a new water main under the Thornapple Path.

At the end of next week, the Town’s concrete contractor is scheduled to begin making repairs to damaged sidewalks, curbs, and driveway aprons.  Impacted residents will be notified in advance of any work.

Thank you for your continued patience during the ongoing utility work. Please contact the Town Office at townoffice@townofchevychase.org or 301-654-7144 if you have any questions.

Notice of Road Closure on Wisconsin Avenue

Beginning at 9:00 PM Sunday, August 12 (weather permitting), Johnson Crane Service Inc. will place a crane in the roadway to hoist HVAC units to the building located at 5430 Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355). The work will close two southbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue between S Park Avenue and Willard Avenue leaving one travel lane for through traffic. The work should be complete and all lanes of traffic reopened no later than 4:00 AM if not earlier.  Sidewalks within the work zone closest to 5430 Wisconsin Avenue building will remain accessible during all phases of the crane operation except when lifting or lowering of materials is active. Pedestrians may be directed to the safest crosswalks within the work zone via flagmen and signage. Safest crossings may include those on the opposite side of the street.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Brendan Burns, President, Metropolitan Permit Services, 301-351-0484, Brendan@metropermit.com.
