Green Power Discount Opportunity

Town Logo
At the Town "Power Breakfast" in January, several residents volunteered to look for a negotiated green power option at a reduced group rate. After exploring a number of options, they decided to work with the Groundswell community power program. Groundswell will combine interested Town residents with other groups and individuals to create leverage for greater purchasing power. After they add up the number of interested people, they will solicit competitive bids from renewable electricity suppliers and come back to us with the best offer. We can each decide to take that offer, or not, at that point.

If you are interested in this possibility, please sign up to express your interest.  Here's how the process works:

1) Go to this website: http://groundswell.tfaforms.net/300240
2) Fill in the form
3) Under first question "which school etc. referred you... "
select "Common Cents Energy" on the pull down menu so we can track the members for our group
4) Email Kirk Renaud to indicate you have signed up so we can keep an independent count (kirkrenaud@aol.com).

Please do this very soon. Remember, signing up does not commit you to this program, it only allows them to tally the number of people who will "likely" follow through with their offer. It is anticipated that the contract process will happen later this spring. Consequently, you will be getting power from your current supplier or Pepco until then. If you want more information about the program, you can find FAQs here.
