Thanksgiving Food Baskets
Drop off/mail a check payable to YMCA-YFS or a Safeway/Giant gift card to the Town Office, now through November 16, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or to Georgia Guhin (4006 Rosemary Street, Chevy Chase, MD 20815). All donations welcome! $25 purchases a turkey; $50 purchases groceries; $75 purchases an entire dinner basket. Please refer to the November Forecast Newsletter for more information.
Join Us at Elm Street Park for Coffee & Bagels and Invasive Plant Removal!
Please RSVP for a 2 hour gardening adventure in Elm Street Park on November 17 from 9 to 11 a.m.
We will have coffee & bagels provided by the Town and gardening tools provided by the Montgomery County Parks Department. The goal is to clean out the invasive plants, guided by the County crew.
We are looking for 10 people to help rid the planting beds of invasive plants. Our mission is to improve and beautify the park. Montgomery County Public School students over the age of 14 are eligible for community service hours from Montgomery County Parks. Purple Line Construction Update
The project will be working on Saturdays in November at the Bethesda Work Zone on Elm Street, continuing excavation efforts between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
During weekends in November, crews will be working to construct new underpasses at the Columbia Country Club from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Due to varying rock conditions, blasting may be utilized in the Bethesda Shaft location through November 11, between the hours of 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Blasting is not planned on weekends or holidays. Additional notification prior to the blasting activity will be provided.
New Farmers Market Opens in the Neighborhood
Section 3 of the Village of Chevy Chase is hosting a Farmers' Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine. There is parking at La Ferme restaurant. The Market is just opposite Brookville Market at Taylor Street. Bring your own bags for lots of delicious food--fresh organic products including lots of apples right now, apple cider, apple sauce, honey, fresh Spring Mill breads, Fire Hook crackers, fresh roasted coffee beans, baked goods and other wonderful produce.
