County Zoning Code Rewrite Update

Formatted HTML message

Town Logo

The first wholesale rewrite of Montgomery County’s zoning code in more than 30 years is quickly moving toward a vote by the County Council.  It is important for residents to be aware of these changes and to contact the County Council with your concerns and comments.

While the proposed code maintains the existing residential zone (R-60) throughout our town, it allows for a new type of building and new uses not currently permitted within single-family neighborhoods. The new code also limits opportunities for public input in key land-use decisions.

Full text of the proposed zoning code and an interactive map showing the proposed zoning changes are available for review. Updates will be provided on the Town's website as they become available.
