Saturday, September 28, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Chevy Chase Village Hall 

Come hear a panel of experts who will talk about national and local initiatives to move away from landscaping practices that create unnecessary noise and pollution.  Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Maryland State Senator Jeff Waldstreicher, Maryland State Delegate Al Carr and Town Council members will be in attendance.

This information session and workshop is designed to help Chevy Chase residents learn about ways to reduce the use of gas-powered landscape equipment and create a quieter, healthier environment for our community.  The event, open to all, is organized by the Chevy Chase Village Environment and Energy Committee and is co-sponsored by our Town and Somerset.

Speakers:  Dr. Jamie Banks, Executive Director of Quiet Communities; Chuck Elkins, Washington, DC ANC Commissioner and former Director of Noise Control and Federal Air Pollution Control Programs at EPA

For further information, The Atlantic documented DC’s successful efforts to phase out gas-powered leaf blowers by January 2022.
