Nick Anderson, Town neighbor and veteran education journalist for the Washington Post, covered the admissions bribery scandal called Varsity Blues. The scandal led to more than fifty arrests on charges of corrupting the testing and admissions process at prominent universities. Please join the Community Relations Committee for conversation with Nick as he discusses these headlines, issues, and the rapidly evolving field of journalism.
Nick also has covered the lawsuit accusing Harvard University of discrimination against Asian Americans. He has covered topics including suburban Maryland schools, the U.S. Department of Education, and the college admissions maze. His interests include the technological revolution in schools, the endless battle to overcome inequities of opportunity, and the sheer intellectual fun of academic life.
