Town Cook Off-- Soup's On!Sunday, March 22, 4 p.m., Town Hall
Town cooks – get your best soup recipes ready!
The judges for this year’s soup cooking contest are Town residents - Libby & Chris Hughes, the owners of the Irish Inn at Glen Echo – and they are bringing the Chef as the 3rd Judge!
All three prizes for the best soups will be gift certificates to the Irish Inn - to enjoy a meal, or drink some Guinness, or listen to some great music. Explore their menu and events at irishinnglenecho.com.
To RSVP as a chef or an attendee, contact the Town at 301-654-7144 or email@example.com [mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org] . Chefs will be given additional instructions when they RSVP.
Glass Recycling at the Lawton Center
Since Town residents may no longer put glass in their single-stream recycling carts, the Town has set up a central collection point for glass at the Lawton Center. Residents can drop off clean glass into the green recycling carts, marked “Glass Bottles and Jars Only,” in the loading area behind the Lawton Center. The loading area is accessible from 44th Street near the intersection of Elm Street. Residents are reminded to continue using your recycling cart to dispose of all recyclable materials except glass.
Please Obey County Leash Laws
The Town office has received calls from residents complaining that dog owners do not observe the County's leash law. Please remember that your dog should always be on a leash when not in a fenced portion of your yard. Even generally well-behaved dogs off leash can be threatening to pedestrians and other dogs on leash. Please observe this law so that everyone can enjoy walks through the Town with or without their dogs
