12th Annual Town Thanksgiving Dinner Effort

Please consider donating to the Town’s 12th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner effort.  Thanks to many Town residents, we have already received generous contributions to purchase $75 grocery cards for 66 of the 100 MCPS families being helped this year.  Here is how you can bring food and holiday cheer to MCPS families especially hard hit by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Drop off or mail a check payable to YMCA-YFS or grocery cards from Giant or Aldi to Georgia Guhin (4006 Rosemary Street) from now through October 30.  Your donation will help purchase a $75 food card for each of the 100 families.  Several residents have asked about online contributions.  Unfortunately, the YMCA is not able to accept online donations directed toward this specific effort.
  • Stop by the porch of Katie Vita (6905 Maple Avenue) to pick up small white cartons and googly eyes.  The grocery cards will be given to the 100 families in these beautifully decorated (by you!) containers.  Return the decorated containers to her porch by October 30.
Can’t get to Georgia’s or Katie’s?  Send an email to the Town Office (townoffice@townofchevychase.org) or Bridget Hartman (bridget@hartmanjr.net) for pick-up of your contribution and/or delivery of your boxes to decorate.
