RSVP for Listening Sessions on "Missing Middle Housing"
On April 8, the Town Council held a forum on "Missing Middle Housing" and listened to residents' opinions. You can listen to the meeting recording [https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/iuxMplpYMq0y-J6aGRjpfSe-Lo5Wugx0PGgruIFHPPY9bmXV6JZv6ZLWySuM8-w2.Hr8iU7WKa5rkNM5V] (Access Passcode: SQJP!E4Y) and review a copy of PowerPoint presentation [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FMao-BHI69m21Xla502LgjNWigHYcDhS/view] . "Missing Middle Housing" describes a range of multi-family or clustered housing types that are compatible in scale with single-family or transitional neighborhoods. "Missing Middle Housing" is intended to meet the demand for walkable neighborhoods, respond to changing demographics, and provide housing at different price points. The term "missing middle" is meant to describe housing types that were common in the pre-WWII United States such as duplexes, rowhomes, and courtyard apartments but are now less common and, therefore, "missing". Rather than focusing on the number of units in a structure, "Missing Middle Housing" emphasizes scale and heights that are appropriate for single-family neighborhoods or transitional neighborhoods.
In an effort to better understand resident viewpoints on "Missing Middle Housing", all residents are encouraged to RSVP for a listening session with Councilmember Irene Lane at townoffice@townofchevychase.org [mailto:townoffice@townofchevychase.org] . Available dates are:
Tuesday, April 13 at 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
Monday, April 26 at 7 p.m.
