Environmental Activists to March on Local Roads Today
The Chevy Chase Village Police Department has been informed that a group of environmental activists will be engaging in protests in DC today (Monday, August 23, 2021), and they also plan a final stop at a federal official's home in the Town around 7:00 p.m.
According to open sources, the group will begin their march this evening at Chevy Chase Circle at about 6:30 p.m., and they will then proceed north on Connecticut Avenue to the official's home in the Town of Chevy Chase. Based on the group's prior protests, the marchers are expected to walk in the street disrupting the flow of traffic.
Federal law enforcement agencies and the Montgomery County Police are aware of this event and will be on site at the federal official's residence.
If you typically use Connecticut Avenue in your travels, you may want to consider an alternative route between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. today.
