Town Will Clear and Treat Public Sidewalks

The Town's contractor will clear and treat Town sidewalks once the snow has ended, which is expected be at approximately 3 p.m. today.  This effort will take at least 24 hours and may take more time depending on crew availability and competing contractor priorities.  Given that the precipitation started as a wet slush, which will freeze as temperatures plummet this evening, the Town asks any residents who are able to assist with clearing the sidewalks in front of their homes.  This will improve public safety and make it less difficult and time-consuming for the contractors to remove frozen precipitation.

Clearing snow from private walkways and driveways is the responsibility of the homeowner.  Residents who need assistance clearing snow, and residents who can offer assistance shoveling snow for their neighbors in need, may contact the Town office.  Assistance can be offered by residents willing to volunteer or charge for their services.  The Town will provide the lists of those needing help, and those offering it, to any Town resident upon request.  Please email the Town office at townoffice@townofchevychase.org.  We also encourage residents to use the private Town Neighbors listserv to seek or offer assistance with snow removal.  For information on how to join the Town Neighbors listserv, please email townneighbors+owner@groups.io.

Residents also may contact any of the service providers listed on the Town website for assistance clearing snow from their walkways and driveways.
