On behalf of the Town Council, I want to extend sincere thanks to Town resident Mary Anne Hoffman, who has chaired the Town's Purple Line Mitigation Advisory Group (MAG) since its inception in November 2009.

Mary Anne and her committee members represented the Town during the state's planning for the Purple Line light rail project. MAG has focused its efforts on the potential impacts of the transit project on the Town and on the Capital Crescent Trail. As part of its work, the group gathered the concerns of Town residents about potential construction and operational impacts of the project and relayed those concerns and mitigation recommendations to state and federal transit agencies.

Mary Anne recently assembled a clear and detailed Power Point presentation outlining all of the past work of the MAG in order to facilitate the work of the group moving forward. This presentation is available on the Town website. Mary Anne also has agreed to provide a briefing to the Long Range Planning Committee once it is reappointed for the coming year and once the new Council liaison to MAG is identified.

I hope you will join me in thanking Mary Anne for her hard work on behalf of the Town and for her success in ensuring that many of the Town's interests have been represented in the final plans for the Purple Line project.
