On Tuesday, September 1 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall, the Town will hold a Purple Line Meeting and Public Hearing to discuss the status of the planned light rail project and to hear residents’ thoughts about the Town’s future involvement in the project.

The meeting will begin with a presentation by the Town’s Long Range Planning Committee, including an overview of the matrix it developed outlining the numerous issues related to the Purple Line and options for future Town engagement. The Council will then discuss the information presented as well as potential strategies and tactics. This will be followed by a public hearing during which residents may express their opinions on future Town involvement in the project. The matrix is posted on the Town’s web site, and if any need clarification or have questions, please email the Town Office at townoffice@townofchevychase.org. Also, if you wish to discuss, please feel free to call me at 202-320-6202.

The information presented at this meeting, including all resident comments, will be considered by the Town Council at its September 9 meeting, when it will decide on a strategy related to the Purple Line. If you cannot attend the September 1 meeting, you may submit comments to the Town Office at 4301 Willow Lane or townoffice@townofchevychase.org prior to the meeting or prior to the September 9 Council meeting.
