The Town’s Community Relations Committee, working with the Lawton Community Center, is collecting clean, gently-used or never used warm coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, and heavy sweaters, pants, and socks to donate to local charities serving those in need. Clothing boxes for your donations are in the Town Hall (Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Lawton Community Center (Monday thru Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.)

Brighten the Holidays for Domestic Violence Victims and Their Children --

As previously announced, the Town's Community Relations Committee is again sponsoring a Holiday Gift Drive for victims of domestic violence and their children until the deadline of Friday, December 18.

Please donate gift cards of $25 or less to such stores as Target, Marshalls, Kohl's, Ross, Sears or Giant.

Remember that gift cards for various stores can be purchased at Giant, Safeway, CVS, and many other familiar outlets.

Bring the cards to the Town Office (9-5 weekdays), or mail them to the Town of Chevy Chase, 4301 Willow Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815.

To make it is easier for you to donate, Cathy Wolf will be happy to pick up gift cards or checks from your house.  Contact her at wolfcs@starpower.net .

Important: Be sure to include your name and e-mail address so you can receive a donation receipt.

The nine very needy families have already been "adopted" by our very generous neighbors.

Thank you very much in advance.
