Utility Update -- Washington Gas continues to work on its ongoing gas main replacement project. Next week, the crew is scheduled to complete main replacement work on Beechwood Drive and begin replacement work on Hillcrest Place. The crews will continue to work on the house service line replacements in blocks where the main replacements have been completed.
WSSC has scheduled the upcoming water main replacement project to start on July 5. Between July 5 and the end of November they intend to complete work on Ridgewood Avenue, Thornapple Street between Meadow Lane and Maple Avenue, and Stanford Street between Maple Avenue and Rosemary Circle.

Play Date in the Park -- Saturday, June 11, 9 a.m. Town toddlers, preschoolers and their families are welcome for a morning of play at the Lawton Center Playground. We will provide juice boxes, coffee and bagels. Families with infants and all older siblings are welcome.
Independence Day Picnic & Parade -- Saturday, July 4, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., on the Lawton Center Grounds. The Fourth of July Celebration is approaching quickly! We are looking for volunteers to help with the biggest event of the year - one where over 600 town residents gather to celebrate the birth of this country. As the old saying goes “Many hands make light work”. In addition, if you wish to participate by being one of the readers of the Declaration of Independence, let your voice be heard now. Please contact the Town office to offer your help with the setting-up and clean-up, and reading.
