Giving This Thanksgiving – It's Not Too Late to Help!

We are about $5,000 short to provide bountiful food baskets to all 150 Montgomery County Public School families this Thanksgiving.  Our grocery shopping starts this Friday.

It is not too late to contribute.  All donations are welcome.  $25 purchases a turkey; $50 purchases groceries; $75 purchases an entire Thanksgiving basket.

If you would like to be part of this neighbor-to-neighbor effort to help school families in need, please drop off a check (made payable to YMCA-YFS) or Giant/Safeway gift cards to the Town Office during weekday hours or anytime to Georgia Guhin (4006 Rosemary Street).  Georgia’s mailbox is available if she is not home.

Thanksgiving provides much loved days off for kids, but for many parents the holiday puts a very real strain on family food budgets.  Our Town’s contribution of 150 dinner baskets, this effort now in its 8th year, is part of a larger County effort that helps MCPS families with groceries not only for a Thanksgiving meal, but throughout the long holiday weekend.

Thanks to all who have generously supported this community effort.
