Residents can learn more about the Maryland Transit Administration’s latest proposal for a pedestrian crossing of the future Purple Line tracks near Lynn Drive at the June 11 Town Council meeting. The Town’s Mitigation Advisory Group (MAG) will present the State’s proposal for a pedestrian underpass beneath elevated tracks in preparation for a public hearing on the proposal in July. MTA has told the Town it can request the crossing be included as a “placeholder” in the Request for Proposal that goes out to prospective Purple Line builders in late June. If the Council decides after hearing from Town residents to reject the proposal, it can be removed from MTA’s plans.
The proposal is available here.
