In November 2021, the Town Council approved an ordinance to adopt the County’s Healthy Lawns Act and making it applicable in the Town. Most notably, the County requirements prohibit homeowners and contractors from using synthetic pesticides for cosmetic purposes on lawns. The Town’s Climate and Environment Committee recommended that the Town adopt the County law because restricting the use of pesticides protects local waterways and promotes a healthier environment for ourselves, our pets, and pollinators.
